About JusticeOS
JusticeOS helps people in California prepare their own domestic violence restraining-order paperwork — the same Judicial Council forms the court clerk expects, filled from answers the person has confirmed, with a citation to an official source behind every requirement.
What it does
The product assembles the DVRO starting packet — DV-100, DV-109, DV-110 and CLETS-001 — from a guided interview, and shows every field for review before anything is generated. It also runs two free tools that need no account: a completeness check for forms someone has already filled in, and a plain-language read of any California court document they have been handed. Alongside those sit 15 source-linked guides covering the forms, filing, service, the hearing, renewal, emergency protective orders, and orders brought here from another state.
What it will not do
JusticeOS is not a law firm and is not anyone's lawyer. It does not give legal advice, recommend which form or legal path to take, predict what a judge will decide, or promise that a filing will be accepted. Those refusals are enforced in the product, not just stated here: a forbidden-language check runs over generated text, and every field a person will file is shown to them for confirmation first. Where something is genuinely a legal judgment, the honest answer is a court self-help center or a licensed lawyer, and the product says so.
Who it is for
People in California handling a restraining-order case without a lawyer. They usually arrive stressed, often on a phone, sometimes on a device somebody else can see — which is why a quick-exit control sits on every page, uploaded files in the free tools are processed in memory and never stored, and the sign-in page suggests using an email account the other person cannot read.
Cost
Understanding a document and checking a packet are free and need no account. Preparing a packet is $99 once per case, with nothing else to buy and no subscription. If somebody cannot afford it, a fee waiver unlocks the same tools at no cost — see pricing.
