Terms of Service
Last updated: July 11, 2026
1. Who we are
JusticeOS is a product of Empathy Labs LLC, a California limited liability company ("Empathy Labs," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the JusticeOS website and application (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. What JusticeOS is — and isn't
JusticeOS is not a law firm and is not your lawyer. JusticeOS is not a law firm, is not acting as your attorney, and no attorney-client relationship is created by using it. It helps you fill out court forms with your own information — it does not give legal advice, does not choose forms for you, and cannot predict what a court will do. For legal advice, talk to a lawyer or visit the free Self-Help Center at your courthouse.
JusticeOS is self-help software. It helps you fill out official California court forms using information you provide. It does not select forms for you, does not evaluate the strength of your situation, does not predict what a court will do, and does not provide legal advice of any kind. No attorney-client relationship is formed by using the Service, at any point, under any circumstances. If you need legal advice, please consult a licensed attorney or visit a courthouse Self-Help Center.
3. Your account and responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you enter into JusticeOS. The Service fills court forms with the facts you provide — it cannot verify that those facts are correct, and it is your responsibility to review every generated document carefully before signing, filing, or serving it. You are also responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to provide legal services to a third party, to misuse or attempt to circumvent the Service's guardrails, to submit false or fraudulent information to a court through documents generated by the Service, or to use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.
5. Fees and payment
Certain features of the Service require payment, as described at checkout. All fees are charged in U.S. dollars. See our Refund Policy for details on refund eligibility.
6. "As is" and warranty disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DOCUMENT GENERATED WILL BE ACCEPTED BY ANY COURT. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING ALL GENERATED DOCUMENTS BEFORE RELYING ON THEM.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Empathy Labs LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms here with a new "Last updated" date.
